A Panoply of Pork – Dining at Sri Hartamas

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

IN A SEA of Japanese and Korean BBQ restaurants in and around Sri Hartamas, Riblee’s Ribs & More really stands out. With an enviably-located corner shoplot festooned with bright awnings, the first-floor eatery is hard to miss. Having been in business here for over seven years, the family-owned and operated restaurant exudes the warmth and elegance of a classic steakhouse, using a time-honoured blend of dark woods with accents of leather and suede to create a sophisticated, inviting appeal.

Executive Chef John Lee ensured that we were well-fed, providing mouthwatering dishes from every page of a menu that serves as an eclectic celebration of pork. The eatery’s signature ribs are available in an array of choices from tender American-style baby back ribs to a unique Tandoori rib served with a cool mint chutney. Other favorites include a succulent, smoked pork loin bacon steak with a wholegrain mustard Hollandaise sauce; a spicy angel hair aglio olio pasta dish with crumbled bacon; and grilled pork loin fajitas. The menu also offers a selection of equally delicious non-pork entrées including chicken, seafood, beef and lamb. Desserts are correspondingly decadent, with the Black Forest Trifle being a standout choice: a symphony of vanilla ice cream, black cherries, chocolate, and Bailey’s Irish cream. On the beverage side, Riblee’s has a selection of juices, hot teas, coffees, and soft drinks. A standard beer list, with the notable addition of two Weinhenstephan brews, rounds off the beverage offerings.

Freshness and authenticity are key concepts at Riblee’s. Fruit juices are fresh, sauces are made in-house, spice blends are created onsite and even the tortillas served with the fajitas are handmade in the restaurant. This unrelenting attention to quality and detail is reflected in the food. Not a single dish disappointed, the presentation was impeccable, and the service was graceful and efficient.

If you’ve got a hankering for mouth-watering pork dishes served in a comfortably intimate, classic steakhouse atmosphere, look no further than Riblee’s. Generous portions of top-notch food will tantalize your palate and most assuredly keep you coming back for more.
