Launched in 1997, Qatar Airways is the national carrier of the State of Qatar and currently flies to 146 destinations worldwide. The airline prides itself in its ability to provide the highest level of personalised service to its customers.

Qatar Airways was named the Airline of the Year by Skytrax in 2011 and 2012. The airline was also named as the best Business Class of the Year in 2013. With these accolades and more, Qatar Airways’ excellent reputation in the industry is certainly cemented.

What better way is there to start a brand new year for one of the world’s leading airline companies, than to launch a new route, to a brand new destination?

Hamad International Airport (HIA)

That’s right, folks, Qatar Airways now offers a Doha – Amsterdam route, serviced using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is hailed as one of the latest next-generation aircraft in the airline’s fleet. It offers 254 seats which are configured in two classes. The Business Class has 22 seats which are fully-flat-bed and the Economy Class offers 232 seats. The total journey time between Doha and Amsterdam will be 6 hours and 35 minutes and it will be a direct flight.

One of the cannels in the city of Amsterdam

1. Noordermarkt

One of the must-do things when you are in town is to head over to this historical market where you will find various knickknacks that would either tickle your fancy or pique your curiosity. The market is held every Saturday on a delightfully picturesque square.

3. Cycle all day, every day

Holland as a country is ideal for tourists who love to ride from one destination to the next, as the surface of the country is quite flat. Bikes for hire are plentiful in Amsterdam as it is one of the more popular means of getting around.
