Morganfield’s has made a name for itself by consistently delivering some of the best BBQ pork ribs in Malaysia. Sure, they have other delicious offerings on the menu, but it’s the ribs that made them famous. Wine and a place like Morganfield’s may not seem a natural match, but it worked beautifully, and expats enjoyed one of the top wine dinners of the year, with fantastic food, exemplary service, and a terrific selection of specially curated wines.

As guests arrived at the Pavilion outlet of Morganfield’s, they enjoyed canapés such as melon with prosciutto, bacon-wrapped meatballs, and more, all paired with an aperitif-style Santa Ana Sauvignon Blanc. Once the seating was sorted for the hungry crowd, the starter impressed everyone: bacon-wrapped asparagus with buttery boiled potatoes, complemented by a lovely Sundays Block Chardonnay. The next dish elicited even more favourable comments – a rich, delicious pork goulash soup with garlic bread and a perfectly paired glass of Zonin Chianti DOCG.

When the main course hit the table, though, it was really the star moment for Morganfield’s, and they certainly delivered: slow-cooked Spanish Iberico ribs, fall-off-the-bone tender and delectable, slathered with a tangy lemon cola BBQ sauce, and served with sides chips and cole slaw. Accompanying the ribs was a very nice Parker Favourite Son Cabernet- Merlot, an excellent choice.

Dessert didn’t disappoint, either – guests enjoyed servings of macadamia banana fritters served with premium dark chocolate and fresh berries, paired with a Zonin Moscato Puglia IGT Frizzante, a perfect end to a very satisfying meal, all shared in the company of friends both old and new!
