TEG is a media company focused on providing information about Malaysia. It does this through print magazines, online media, and events. The online media team is currently looking for a Staff Writer to write, research, edit, and upload stories.

Here are details about the online media business and what we’re looking for in a candidate.

About TEG Digital

Our primary online media sites comprise ExpatGo.com, EatDrink.my, and MM2H.com. These combined sites attract over 200,000 monthly online readers and continue to grow.

ExpatGo.com is a media site focused on publishing news and lifestyle articles for living better in Malaysia.

EatDrink.my is a media site focused on publishing independent restaurants reviews and feature articles for places to eat and drink around KL & Selangor.

MM2H.com is an online guide providing insight about the Malaysia My Second Home Visa Programme.

Experience and Skills

• Superior writing and editing skills in the English language (required)
• Good photography skills
• Excellent communication skills
• A strong team player who can take initiative. Someone who knows how to contribute and can help initiate new editorial strategies to further engage and grow readership
• Good at multi-tasking
• Great attitude
• Experience working online media and social media (preferred, not required)
• Experience in Word Press (preferred, not required)
• Graduated with a degree in Journalism or similar qualification
• 2 to 6 years work experience in relevant field
• Eligible to work in Malaysia

Duties:

• Write, edit, and research stories for ExpatGo.com and EatDrink.my. Also, periodically updating other sites, like MM2H.com.
• Manage the uploading and editing of stories onto WordPress
• Support efforts with updating social media accounts, e-newsletters, and online directories

TEG’s online media business is a small but growing group. We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who’s willing to work hard with limited resources to help take the editorial and readership to the next level!
