Rockaway Festival 2016: A guide to Malaysia’s biggest rock festival

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The biggest rock festival in Malaysia, Rockaway Festival highlights the best of both local and international rock scenes. Past festivals have featured the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Dashboard Confessional, You Me At Six, Sum 41, and Paramore among many others.

It’s been three years since the last Rockaway Festival, but the wait is over. After taking time to plan a huge reintroduction, Rockaway Festival 2016 will be back with a bang, with iconic acts like Scorpions, Alleycats, Butterfingers, and many more in a line-up that looks poised to attract fans from all around the region.

This year, Rockaway Festival will take place over two events, kicking off with the Rockaway Weekender at the Sepang International Circuit on 29th and 30th October. The festival will coincide with the Shell Malaysia MotoGP, so concert goers can enjoy the race at the same time as the concert, which overlooks turns 13 and 14 of the track.

The second festival will be Rockaway: The Saga Continues, which will be held two weeks later on 19th November at the Bukit Jalil Extreme Park. The line-up for this closing festival is massive, with acts like Alleycats, Butterfingers, Son of a Police Man, One Buck Short, a ‘band battle’ between the founding members of OAG and Hujan, and many more.
