Malaysia’s own popstar Yuna has reached new heights, quite literally, this week. The Kedah-born songstress, already making headlines around the world this year, has now been been featured on the giant electronic NASDAQ billboard in Times Square, New York.

Yuna released her third international studio album, Chapters, in May this year, which Rolling Stone magazine named as one of the best R&B albums of the year. Her single Crush, featuring Usher, has over 18 million views on YouTube and made it to the US Billboard charts for R&B music, peaking at the 3rd spot.

That also earned Yuna a page in the Malaysian Book of Records for being the first Malaysian artist to make it to the US Billboard Top 10 R&B Chart.

The songstress tweeted a photo of the billboard with her face on it, which then received thousands of likes, retweets, and congratulatory replies from her fans:

According to the New Straits Times, Yuna explained that NASDAQ, an American stock exchange, features a different artist each month and that seeing her face on the billboard makes all the hard work worthwhile. It seems many corners of the world are developing a major crush on this powerhouse Malaysian artist – no surprise there.
