The German Embassy Kuala Lumpur, in cooperation with GALERI PETRONAS, proudly presents the exhibition “German Energiewende” (Energy Transition). The Energy Transition Exhibition is a touring exhibition. It started its journey around the world in Beijing in April 2016. Since then it has toured more than 30 locations and it will be shown in Malaysia for the first time in South-East-Asia.

The exhibition was devised by the German Federal Foreign Office in order to give those interested an impression of what the energy transition is all about, what it means to the German people and what its essential elements are. Energy efficiency, renewable energies and phasing out nuclear energy are important pillars of Germany’s energy policy.

With the energy transition, or “Energiewende”, Germany intends to make its energy supply more sustainable, environmentally friendly and reliable. By the year 2050, Germany is planning for the country’s energy needs to be met at least by 80 % from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower. As of today, nearly 32% have been achieved.

The exhibition will also include several talks and presentations by experts in the fields. The presentations are free but prior registration is required. To register, please send an e-mail to Ms. Heidi Giebel, [email protected]
