The recent A level results at the Alice Smith School rank our students’ achievements with many of the best schools in UK including the independent sector. 78% of the grades achieved were A*, A or B. Amongst the many students achieving exceptional academic standards, 4 students have results of the highest order attaining 4 A* grades, with four more achieving 3 A* grades. 30 students scored all A* or A grades for their subjects with a further 11 attaining at least two A grades in their studies.

“These achievements reflect the very high standards and expectations for teaching and learning and the calibre and ability of the student body at the Alice Smith School. Accredited as a British School Overseas by the Department for Education in London and awarded a full membership certification by COBIS, our A Level programme is very successful and includes the AQA Baccalaureate, a qualification which recognises and celebrates achievements beyond traditional academics. We invest considerable time in supporting and preparing students for their transition to higher education and we have close links with reputable universities for placements,” said Roger Schultz, Secondary Principal.

The majority of our graduating students from last year’s Year 13 have confirmed first choice placements in excellent universities, including 7 successful Oxbridge candidates. Russell Group universities feature strongly in the placements for the vast majority of our graduates who have chosen the UK as their higher destination education.

Director of School, Mrs Valerie Thomas-Peter adds, “At GCSE level, the school achieved the best I/GCSE results in its history, the previous highest cohort results being 62% A*/A grades in June 2010. From our cohort of 122 students in Year 11, 97 students obtained five or more A* and A grades in their results with 31 students scoring ten or more A* and A grades. Twenty students achieved a clean sweep of A* and A grades in all their subjects. Outstanding individual results include one student who attained an exceptional ten A* grades.”

At the Alice Smith School, we provide students with an outstanding British education for a successful international future.
