Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This post is brought to you by Club Med Malaysia.

Club Mediterranee or Club Med is a vacation resort located in many places around the world. Club Med’s specialty is its exotic locations in different parts of the world, such as; Asia, Europe, North and South America and more, and being the first resort to offer an all-inclusive package to its guests.

Each Club Med resort prides itself on offering a variety of services and activities in one single package, for the convenience of its guests, or GMs, (Gentle Members) as they are known when at the resort. Club Med’s staffs are known as Gentle Organisers (GOs).

Now, if you think you know enough about Club Med, think again. Here are 5 things you may not have known about Club Med.

1. There are 80 Club Meds Around the World

In total, there are 80 Club Med resorts around the world. These include Bali and Bintan Island in Indonesia, Guilin in China, Kabira Beach and Sahoro in Japan, Phuket in Thailand, Kani in Maldives, Palmiye in Turkey, Marrakech and Yasmina in Morocco, Cervinia and Pragelato Vialattea in Italy, Opio en Provence, Valmorel and Val Thorens in France, Wengen in Switzerland and more. There are also two new resorts; Dong’ Ao Island in China and Finolhu Villas in Maldives. Both have special opening offer rates. Look at more locations here.

2. There’s One Club Med in Malaysia

Club Med Cherating Beach

Located in Cherating (a beach town in Pahang) is the only Club Med in Malaysia. Strategically constructed along the coastline of the South China Sea, the resort truly is a stretch of pure heaven on earth. The 4km stretch of soft, white sand consists of three separate beaches; the main beach, which stretches for 1km and is the closest to the resort; Pantai Beach, which is opposite the specialty restaurant and is surrounded by rocks; and a 200-yard stretch of golden sand reserved for Club Med’s water activities. Deckchairs and showers are available at all three beaches.

For meals, you can choose to dine on traditional Asian and International cuisine at The Mutiara, a restaurant located by the pool. There is also a Baby Corner at The Mutiara, for parents to prepare meals for their babies. The Rembulan is an intimate restaurant located about five minutes from the centre of the resort, next to Pantai beach. For a cocktail (or mocktail) or two, head over to The Orchid Bar (located in the centre of the resort, near the Mutiara restaurant), or the Monkey Bar, at Pantai beach.

There are two options for accommodations; the clubs or suites. Clubs are perfect for families as it comes in a variety of options. One can choose to have an ocean side view, a sea side view, an interconnecting room, a room for people with reduced mobility, or a normal room. The suites are perfect for couples who are looking to enjoy a more luxurious time at the resort. Some of the extra amenities provided, if you stay in a suite, include an airport pickup in a limo, an espresso machine and flat screen television in the suite, and a dedicated contact person for the duration of your stay.

P/S: Club Med Cherating Beach was included in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for family-friendly hotels in Asia, in 2013.
