The Federation of British International Schools in Southeast Asia and East Asia (FOBISSEA) had organised the annual FOBISSEA Leadership Conference and AGM from 31 October to 4 November 2012. This event gathered the Heads of Schools and Senior Managers from some of the top members of the FOBISSEA British international schools in this region to discuss, exchange ideas, and share best practices on new developments from the United Kingdom.

A focused training session for the Middle and Senior Leaders which was organised based on their needs was also held. A total of 91 delegates from 38 British International Schools in Southeast Asia and East Asia participated in this event. Thirty-one exhibitors from related industries also participated in this year’s conference.

Valerie Thomas-Peter, the Organising Chairperson, who is also the Treasurer of FOBISSEA and Director of School of the Alice Smith School, said, “This year we had for the first time created a membership level called ‘FOBISSEA Associate Membership.’ Because of this and other factors, we had the largest number of exhibitors in the history of FOBISSEA.”

She added that this year’s conference was also formally supported by the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) and sponsored by Infinity Corporate Benefits Ltd, Tribal Group Plc, and Global Investors Group Ltd. Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur is the Official Hotel and The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd, Berita BMCC, and The Expat Group are the Official Media Partners.
