What brought you to Malaysia?
I came to Malaysia to be involved in the company start-up for Maxis in 1995 and stayed ever since.
What were your impressions of Malaysia before you came?
I imagined Malaysia was a tropical paradise.
What are the three things you like most about living in Malaysia?
I like being in the tropics; I like the cost of living; and I enjoy taking advantage of the cheap cost of travel around the region.
What three things do you don’t like about Malaysia?
I dislike the fact that traffic enforcement is almost non-existent; I dislike the constant field-burning pollution; and I also don’t like the fact there is a lack of parking wherever you go.
Name three weekend activities you typically enjoy?
At the weekend I enjoy having a glass of wine/brandy, a good cigar, and reading or listening to music.
What are your favourite restaurant and/or bar in Malaysia?
I don’t have any favourite restaurants, but my favourite areas are Bangsar and the Sungei Wang/Golden triangle area.
Do you own property here?
Yes, I own a condo in Damansara Perdana near The Curve/Ikea.
Are most of your friends Malaysians or expats?
Most of my friends are Malaysians.
What do you miss most about your home country?
I miss the American food; I miss the civilised driving and the abundance of parking spaces; and I miss the huge choice of TV channels.
Name three places you would take a visitor.
I would take a visitor to the Sungei Wang/ KLCC area; Phuket; and also Penang/Singapore.
