The Putrajaya main dam is an earth-core rock-filled dam. It is 35m high and 800m long. The dam was built over the 400 hectare lake and goes across Sg. Chuah.
The dam has a Labyrinth spillway, a first of its kind in Malaysia, which was build with a crest length of 290m, designed to limit flood rise to below 2.0m.
