New British Ambassador to Malaysia

The new British Ambassador to Malaysia, Her Excellency Victoria Treadell CMG MVO, is the former British High Commissioner to New Zealand and Samoa.  She was also the Governor of the Pitcairn Islands.

Her Excellency Victoria Treadell CMG MVO has been appointed British High Commissioner to Malaysia, in succession to Simon Featherstone CMG, who passed away in August this year.

Treadell CMG MVO was born on the 4th of November in 1959, in Perak, to a Cantonese mother and father of French-Dutch ancestry. She joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1979. Her time with the FCO involved a wide range of other policy and service delivery roles including three years as a UK Trade and Investment’s Director for the North West of England. Treadell was made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) in 1989 and a Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in 2010. She was also awarded the Public Sector Award in 2009, in the UK’s prestigious Asian Women of Achievement Awards, and was appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) in 1989. She was also made a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (CMG) in 2010.
