Book Week at ISKL’s elementary campus was a roaring success with visiting authors, storytelling, and Book Bingo creating a huge buzz with students from Prep Reception to Grade 5. The philosophy behind the event was simple – make reading fun. ES Teacher and Librarian Suji DeHart explained, “There is substantial research which provides evidence that reading, beginning at a young age and continuing into adult life, can be linked to success in many areas including life satisfaction, higher test scores, success in careers, and a greater ability to reason critically.” Dr. Seuss summed it up perfectly: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”
