The Premier League’s most coveted prize is coming to Kuala Lumpur this August, and Guinness is giving 100 fans the chance to be part of its grand entrance.
From August 22 to 24, 2025, Pavilion KL will host the Premier League Trophy, offering Malaysian fans a rare opportunity to see it up close. The highlight of its arrival will be on Friday, August 22, when Guinness stages a ceremonial Guard of Honour – a football tradition in which players, legends, or symbols of the game are welcomed with respect and pride. This time, the spotlight falls on the fans themselves.
Guinness is recruiting 100 passionate supporters to line the Trophy’s entrance route, proudly wearing their club jerseys along with official Guinness gear. The Guards of Honour will create a striking show of unity as the Trophy makes its way into Pavilion KL. Those selected will receive an exclusive Guinness scarf and cap, be among the first to take a photo with the Trophy, and enjoy a complimentary Guinness Draught in Can after the ceremony, while stocks last.
“In our second year as a Premier League sponsor, we’re honoured to bring a piece of that magic to those who usually cheer from behind a screen. Football has a unique way of creating connections between friends, families, strangers at the bar, and even fans of rival clubs. Some follow the game, others follow the people who love it. Recruiting 100 Guards of Honour is our tribute to all of them,” said Joyce Lim, Marketing Manager at Guinness Malaysia.

HOW TO TAKE PART
To apply, visit @GuinnessMY on Instagram and look for the recruitment post. In the comments, explain why you and a friend are the ultimate football fans, tag your football buddy, and include #LovelyDayForAGuinness. Fifty winners will be selected, with each bringing their nominated friend to make up the 100 Guards of Honour. Entries close at 12:00pm (MYT) on August 17.
A FULL WEEKEND OF FOOTBALL SPIRIT
Once the ceremony is complete, the Trophy will remain on display for the rest of the weekend. On August 23 and 24, the public can view and photograph the Trophy, and even capture a cinematic slow-motion video moment. Fans who arrive in a Premier League jersey can also redeem a pint of Guinness Draught or a can at Arthur’s Storehouse, while stocks last.
The Guard of Honour promises to be a memorable celebration for football lovers in Malaysia, offering a chance to be part of a tradition usually reserved for players and legends. Whether you’re cheering for the reigning champions or a team fighting for glory, this event is set to unite fans in their shared passion for the game.
