At Garden International School, success goes far beyond grades. With outstanding academic results, personalised support, and innovative initiatives like the THRIVE Internship Programme, students are prepared not only for university but for life.
Success in education is not just about grades. At Garden International School (GIS), one of Asia’s leading international schools, we measure success by how well our students are prepared for life. While our academic achievements continue to rank among the best worldwide, the real story is how our young people flourish—both within our campus and beyond it.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE THAT OPENS DOORS
In 2025, 94 students graduated from our Year 13 cohort, gaining qualifications in 24 different A Level courses: 66% of grades achieved were A*–A and 86% were A*–B. At IGCSE, 155 students completed qualifications across 29 subjects, with an outstanding 71% of all grades at A*–A and 90% graded A*–B.
These results open pathways to world-class opportunities for our graduates. This year, GIS students received 88 offers from top 10 UK and European universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, and LSE. Beyond Europe, GIS students continue to make their mark globally.
The Class of 2025 will go on to study 41 different courses across 45 institutions in 12 countries, ranging from medicine and law to engineering, design, and the creative arts—a testament to both the diversity of our students’ aspirations and the personalised support they receive.

MORE THAN GRADES
GIS also measures success by the progress each child makes. On average, every IGCSE grade achieved at GIS is 1.5 grades higher than standardised assessment data, with A Level results also well above global expectations. This “value-added” learning shows the impact of teaching at GIS, where students not only achieve excellence, but also surpass what data suggested was possible.

PREPARING STUDENTS FOR LIFE
At GIS, education extends well beyond the classroom. We believe the measure of success is not only what our students achieve at 18, but who they become at 28 and beyond. That’s why resilience, teamwork, confidence, and adaptability are embedded into every aspect of school life—from sports and arts to leadership and service.
One of our proudest innovations is the THRIVE Internship Programme, unique to GIS. Before graduating, Sixth Form students step into the real world through curated internships with leading companies, NGOs, and creative industries. This bridges classroom learning with professional experience, giving students a head start in career exploration and employability skills. Parents consistently tell us that THRIVE has been transformative—building maturity and clarity about future pathways long before university begins.

LIFELONG SUCCESS
Ultimately, the true success of a school is measured in the lives its alumni go on to lead. GIS graduates are changemakers, innovators, and leaders across the globe. Some pursue Oxbridge or the Ivy League, while others thrive in the arts, entrepreneurship, or philanthropy. Wherever they go, they carry with them the resilience, creativity, and international-mindedness nurtured at GIS.
As Principal Peter Derby-Crook reflects, “At GIS, success is not a single outcome—it’s a lifelong journey. Our goal is not just to prepare students for exams, but to equip them with the knowledge, values, and experiences that will help them thrive in an ever-changing world.”
