Kuala Lumpur Named World’s 77th Most Liveable City

A recent study by The Economist named KL the world’s 77th “most liveable” city, which is a modest improvement from the Malaysian capital’s 2011 ranking. In the region, only Singapore (52nd place) bested KL’s quality of living. Specifically, KL’s score of 74.0 defines the city’s liveability as “day-to-day living is fine, in general, but some aspects of life may entail problems.”

For comparison, nearby capitals Jakarta and Bangkok placed 118th and 101st, respectively, while Manila placed 105th.
Cities were ranked according to stability, availability of healthcare, culture and environment, education, and public infrastructure. Scores are determined in a range from 1 (intolerable) to 100 (ideal).
