Pavilion KL Goes Back to Basics for a Beautiful Golden Christmas 2020

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

After last year’s head-scratching Star Wars Christmas display, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur returns to a more traditional Christmas village scene.

With a rough 2020 almost behind us, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur has spared no expense in helping shoppers to make their holidays merry with their lavish Golden Christmas Memories display.

Pavilion KL always does it up big for Christmas, but this year, they’ve really gone all out to create an enchanting, festive village feel that invites shoppers to reminisce on their own special Christmas memories. The impressive display is a great throwback to the real beauty and magic of Christmas, and will surely get you into the spirit of the season. Sure, there’s no giant Millennium Falcon suspended in the Centre Court, and no lightsabers or Stormtroopers to be seen anywhere, but we somehow think Christmas will be just fine without them.

Through January 5, 2021, you can enjoy the charm of a traditional European Christmas village at Centre Court, where a spectacular 30-foot golden Christmas tree greets shoppers with sparkling brilliance. As you explore the festive décor, discover picture-perfect moments at every turn – make sure to snap a photo on-board the Pavilion Express train.

Don’t forget to look up and be mesmerised by the giant shimmering baubles above. (Plus, we think it’s just fun to say “baubles” whenever possible.) Browse the array of Christmas Market kiosks, meanwhile, for lovely gifts before heading off to admire the colourful animated characters at Spanish Steps and the lush poinsettia garden around the iconic Crystal Fountain and throughout the mall.

Lovely by day, but truly stunning by night, be sure to feast your eyes on Christian Dior’s unique pink and gold Dior Holiday Tree at the main entrance to Pavilion KL, the first such tree in Southeast Asia and one of only three to be displayed globally this year, alongside Taipei and Paris. The tree is decorated with customised Dior ornaments flown in from Paris and is lit up with dazzling lights, and complements Dior’s exclusive Christmas collection featured in the newly opened store.

Also getting in on the fun is Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the lovely five-star hotel near the mall’s couture wing that’s managed by luxury brand Banyan Tree, as it offers some great post-lockdown holiday staycation deals! (They also have a great kiosk set up in the mall’s Christmas Market, selling some yummy treats from Bake, the ground floor bakery at Banyan Tree, among other goodies!)

Enjoy a great year-end city staycation at Pavilion Hotel!

“Christmas is one of the most highly anticipated times of the year, and we promise yet another round of special, magical, and uplifting celebrations for all, regardless of race and religion,” said Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion REIT Malls. “This year, Pavilion REIT Malls wishes to spread positivity and uplift communities, with a message of joy, happiness, and hope as 2020 draws to a close and we look ahead optimistically to 2021. We invite shoppers to immerse in the festivities and enjoy themselves this season, and on behalf of the management, I wish everyone a joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year.”

Pavilion KL is also serving up some great holiday rewards!

But it gets better: For items bought at other malls in the Bukit Bintang area, they’ll gift wrap those, too, for a fee as low as RM1! Larger gifts cost a little more to wrap, but it’s still incredibly inexpensive, and for people who enjoy buying gifts but dread wrapping them, this is perhaps the greatest offer in KL!

Fashion lovers will want to visit the “Bernard Chandran Dreams & Reality” Fashion Exhibition by celebrity Malaysian fashion designer, Dato’ Bernard Chandran as he showcases his work from the past 34 years.
