The International School of Penang (Uplands)

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The International School of Penang (Uplands) was founded in 1955, in a colonial hotel on the top of Penang Hill, as a British preparatory boarding school for the children of expatriate and local families in Malaysia. It was relocated to a historic, former catholic seminary site in Georgetown in 1976, and moved once again in September 2006 into purpose-built facilities in the heart of Batu Feringgi, the island’s beach resort.

Uplands School is one of the leading international schools in Malaysia, offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Year Programme (IB PYP), International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and IGCSE qualifications.

Uplands School is a not-for-profit, co-educational and non-denominational day and boarding school for students aged between 4-18 years old.

Since 1955, Uplands School had offered students the opportunity to be residential boarders. The unveiling of their new state-of-the-art boarding facilities continues the tradition of providing students with a safe, secure, and happy environment, led by experienced professionals: head of boarding, house parents, nurse, matrons, and security.
