This is a staging of William Shakespeare’s Richard III — with a Butoh injection and interpretation. Laments of The Dead is presented with a non-linear narrative but in a nested structure, to uncover the truth of humanity. Director Swee Keong wants to showcase the rich and complex humanity within us all that manifests in through Richard III. 

Individuals from diverse background have come together for this production; from theatre, dance, music, installation art, and photography. This is also an excellent platform for artistes and those who are interested in Butoh to explore and understand Butoh further.

This play is the first Programme 1 of the Nyoba Kan Butoh Festival 2016.
