Penang’s long-running celebration of all things German is back on Friday and Saturday, 31 October – 1 November! Enjoy traditional Bavarian music, food, beer and good cheer under the tent at the Malaysian-German Society.
Join in the fun for Oktoberfest 2025—the iconic German cultural festival that has gathered crowds for more than 40 years at the Malaysian-German Society. This year the festivities kick off at 7pm on both Friday and Saturday evenings, with the live band Frankenräuber flown in from Bavaria to bring genuine oompah, yodels, and dance-floor energy. Expect authentic German food like sausages, pretzels, sauerkraut, beer tents, and a festive atmosphere accompanied by local favourites and non-alcoholic options.
Early-bird tickets begin at RM30, with increasing prices closer to the days. Members get special rates starting in July. Children under 16 enter free (when accompanied by an adult), so bring the family. With a traditional tent setup unique to Northern Malaysia, this is the place for Penangites and visitors to raise a glass, feast, and enjoy a slice of Bavaria without leaving the island.
