During the peak of the Iranian revolution, a CIA ‘exfiltration’ specialist have been tasked by the governments of the United States and Canada to concoct a risky plan to free six American diplomats who have found shelter at the home of the Canadian ambassador.
Based on the Canadian Caper that took place during the Iran hostage crisis in 1979 and 1980, “Argo” tells the story of a plan to convince Iran that the six men were just members of a camera crew who were scouting the area for a science fiction film titled “Argo”.
