Survey Indicates Rising Consumer Confidence

Insight Asia, a market research group, produce a quarterly survey based on interviews conducted in various Asian countries, including Malaysia.

The latest survey showed increased consumer confidence in Malaysia as respondents felt that the economy was improving and that the outlook for the next 12 months was positive. This is quite a strong improvement from the previous quarter when respondents indicated a more pessimistic outlook.

Malaysia looks to end 2012 with a GDP growth rate likely exceeding 5% and should achieve that again in 2013 according to the respected Malaysia Institute of Economic Research.
