At a press conference yesterday, Minister Hishammuddin Hussein revealed that there was a major breakthrough with their search when new satellite images detected a number of floating objects, believed to be debris from the missing MH370, in the southern Indian Ocean.

According to Hishammuddin, the Malaysian Remote Sensing Agency had received these new satellite images from Airbus Defence and Space from France.

The images were analyzed and about 122 potential objects were identified. These potential objects were detected about 2,557 kilometres from Perth.

In light of this, Australia will continue to lead the search. Search operations are ongoing now.
