Kuala Lumpur City Hall to Add Permanent Bicycle Lanes Downtown

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will soon add permanent bicycle lanes in downtown KL, following the popularity of the KL Car Free Morning programme, which was launched last year.

The move to add more bicycle lanes will hopefully reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in the city.

In case you didn’t know, KL Car Free Mornings take place every first and third Sundays of the month, between 7am and 9am. This covers some KL roads, which will be closed to motor traffic.

According to Coconuts KL, previously, DBKL had announced the construction of three bike lane routes into and through parts of the city. This includes a 5.5km stretch from MidValley to Dataran Merdeka, a 4km route between Wangsa Maju and Taman Melati and a 2km route within Taman Batu Muda.
