Black Eyed Peas to Perform as Part of Sultan of Johor’s Coronation Celebrations

Update

Unfortunately, we’ve learned that three acts will be dropped from the concert. The Black Eyed Peas, Sistar and Fuying and Sam will not be performing at the concert. Read more here.

American hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas will perform at the Sultan of Johor’s coronation celebrations next week, at a four-day music festival in Danga Bay. The festival is part of the celebrations to commemorate the Sultan of Johor’s coronation.

This will be the first time that the Black Eyed Peas will perform in Johor, and the second time they are coming to Malaysia.

There will, of course, be other performances as well. Such as, Korean girl pop artist T-Ara, Indonesia’s Rossa, Korea’s Sistar, Taiwanese ‘Fuying & Sam’ and local singers like Sheila Majid, Jacklyn Victor, Penny Tai, Shila Amzah and Nicole. The open air music festival will take place from the 26th of March and go on for four days. The concert is also free for all.

There will also be other exciting events to look forward to, as part of the coronation celebrations. This includes a F3000 Power Boat Race which will see participants from seven countries, Cycleton Around Johor which will see participations from 20 teams, Beach Sports, Boats Floats Procession which will showcase a procession of 23 beautiful boats, and a spectacular fireworks display to end it all.

The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, is expected to present the Coronation Cup to the champion of all events on the 29th of March.
