He also writes for the various magazines and websites. A lifelong writer and English language enthusiast, Chad's background is primarily in business management, though he majored in education at Auburn University, and held jobs with editorial responsibility in his home country of the United States. Chad's interests extend to photography, travel, and a passion for good food and wine, along with a love of whisky, which has led to him serving as the Event Director for TEG Media’s popular WhiskyPLUS event, held annually since 2018.
Kathleen is The Expat Group's online staff writer. She's a psychology graduate who loves reading and useless facts. For example, did you know that when you're awake, the brain produces enough electricity to power a small lightbulb? She has long been a fan of writing, mostly about whichever existential revelation pops into her mind on any given day, as well as academic papers for university and is now venturing into the professional realm.
David Bowden is a freelance photojournalist specialising in travel, food, wine and any other hedonistic delight. While Australian by birth, he's been in Asia for longer than he can remember and returns to his home country as a tourist. Andy Davison is the founder and CEO of TEG (The Expat Group). He started the company in 1996 with The Expat magazine. He has expanded TEG into the leading multi-channel media company for reaching the international community. The local and foreign media regularly interview Andy to gain insight about foreigners' views on Malaysian issues. He is a well recognised authority on the Malaysia My Second Home programme, managing an MM2H agency, speaking and promoting the programme internationally, and providing input to the government about it. Prior to TEG, Andy spent 25 years working around the world for American Express. He was General Manager of American Express Malaysian operations and also headed an Asia Pacific division.

After completing her degree in Communication from SUNY Buffalo, she decided to focus on a writing career. Frances Wilks heads up the Expat Group in Penang where she is responsible for Penang International, a magazine which is not only for expats but also for people visiting the island. Having grown up there (with lengthy stints away in Britain and Sri Lanka) she regards herself as an honorary Penangite. With a background in media (radio and television) she loves the human interest in a story. In fact this lead her to study Psychology and become a psychotherapist before turning back to the thing she loves most - writing.

After graduating with a degree in Media & Communications from the University of Sydney in Australia, she worked in journalism, corporate communications and marketing for various companies in Sydney. Throughout this time, she was also a freelancer for the Herald Sun newspaper in Melbourne before returning to Kuala Lumpur at the end of 2011. Manveen writes across both the print and online mediums at The Expat Group and has had her work published in newspapers, magazines, newsletters, and websites in both Australia and Malaysia. Simon is the editor of ExpatGo.com and EatDrink.my. Before joining TEG, he was a freelance writer, editor and author, and has covered everything from travel blogging for the National Geographic Traveller to a technology column for a women's magazine! He has contributed to three books for Rough Guides, and is a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers. Simon realised he wanted to be a journalist when he was living in France, while desperately trying to complete his Masters in Engineering. His interests include sports, photography and music - and the occasional visit to Changkat Bukit Bintang for a 'quiet drink'.
Marybeth Ramey, a long time Asian expat, joined TEG in 2000. She has played a lead role in developing the editorial content for TEG's publications, websites and other TEG platforms. She was the Group Editor for several years. Her key roles now are planning and developing TEG's growth expansion which includes bringing in new major business as well as maintaining our business from the key sectors of international education and the hospitality industry. An American academic, she has been on local university faculties teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. She's an award winning writer, and she has won accolades from Malaysia's National Art Gallery among other organisations for her advocacy of local artists. She has lived in Malaysia for 12 years.
Rubaa is The Expat Group’s online staff writer. She has previously worked with New Straits Times (RED) and The Peak Malaysia writing on a variety of subjects ranging from property to food, travel and watches. Epsom College in Malaysia (British International school in Malaysia) is a boarding and day school on a 50-acre site at Bandar Enstek, south of Kuala Lumpur. Seen as a major development in the field of education in Malaysia, Epsom College is co-educational and follows the British National Curriculum with all teaching in English. The Senior School for pupils aged 11-18 is both a day and boarding school. It opened in September 2014 with a small Prep School on site for day pupils aged 3 – 10 years old.
Chris worked in the Food and Beverage industry as a student overseas, followed by stints in the Interior Design and Build field locally and was involved in the interior fit-out of the Petronas Twin Towers project. Later, he moved into Sales & Marketing, travelled a little, and learned a smattering of several languages. A trained Interior Designer, he loves decorating rooms and painting artworks. He has written prolifically as an interest for years, both literary works and song lyrics, and now works as a professional freelance writer. Marco Ferrarese has travelled extensively and lived in Italy, the United States, China, Australia and Malaysia. Since 2009, he’s been based in Southeast Asia as a writer, hardcore punk musician and researcher.
