Fans Set Up a Glasgow Rangers Fan Club for Supporters in Kuala Lumpur

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In 1872, four rowers in Glasgow Scotland were interested in keeping up their fitness during the rowing off-season. Taking the name ‘Rangers’ from a long-forgotten English Rugby Club, The Famous Rangers Football Club was formed. Fast forward to 2017: 54 league titles; 33 Scottish Cup wins; 27 Scottish League Cups wins; 7 trebles winning seasons; and a European Cup Winners Cup later, and the Kuala Lumpur Rangers Supporters Club was started.

Four supporters of the Glasgow Rangers in KL feel that no city is truly an international city if it does not have a Rangers Supporters Club. So Colin Campbell, Keir McIntyre, Hugh Mac, and Scott Sonthalia banded together to form The Kuala Lumpur Rangers Supporters Club, a social club based on support of Rangers Football Club for fans in Kuala Lumpur. Together, members watch the Rangers matches at the Green Man Pub in Bukit Bintang.

This season, the club is all set to watch Rangers’ league matches and the Rangers Youth Team in the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens. There will also be an end of season dinner and awards night! The date and location of the dinner will be confirmed at a later date, so make sure to follow the KL Rangers Fan Club on Facebook to stay updated. You can also contact them at [email protected]. The Kuala Lumpur Rangers club is a member of the Oceania Rangers Supporters Association.
