Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Regarded as one of UK’s oldest and most successful independent school, Christ College Brecon will soon be welcoming its sister school, King Henry VIII College, in Cyberjaya.

To mark the school’s 475th anniversary, the prestigious Christ College Brecon has signed a collaboration agreement with Brecon Synergy Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of DBH Holdings Sdn Bhd, to open its first international school outside of the UK.

Expected to be completed in June 2018, with admission opening as early as September 2018, King Henry VIII College can accommodate up to 1,500 students and has state-of-the-art facilities for learning, sports, drama, and other extracurricular activities. Just like Christ College, this new renowned school will function as a co-educational boarding and day school for students aged between seven and 18 years across ASEAN.

As for the educators, there will be a combination of teachers recruited from Brecon and local teachers who have undergone training at Brecon. This is done to ensure only the best teachers are appointed to educate the students.

In addition, students will also have an option of studying in Christ College Brecon as the syllabus, textbooks and uniform are identical. King Henry VIII College will also replicate the ethos, the culture, the academic rigour, and the determination of its sister school in order to challenge each child to explore their capabilities to the fullest.

As for the curriculum, it will be very much a British one, modelled after Christ College. Covering a modern subject selection, pupils will sit for Cambridge International IGCSE’s and AS/A levels, preparing them to study at top universities in the world.
