Roads around Dataran Merdeka to be closed for Merdeka

Next Friday, 31 August 2012, is Malaysia’s National Day. To mark this happy occasion, there will be a grand parade taking place at Dataran Merdeka. And because of the parade, several roads around Dataran Merdeka will be closed.

According to the Kuala Lumpur police Facebook page, several roads will be closed in stages from 6am on 27 August for the rehearsal, until 31 August. The closed roads will be open in stages on 31 August, after the Merdeka celebrations.

The affected roads are; Jalan Travers / Jalan Damansara; Jalan Mahameru / Jalan Damansara (Carcosa Seri Negara); Jalan Lembah / Jalan Perdana (Masjid Negara); Bulatan Hishamuddin / Jalan Lembah; Jalan Tembusu / Jalan Lembah; Jalan Cenderasari / Jalan Perdana and Jalan Kinabalu / Bukit Aman exit.

Also affected are Jalan Kinabalu / Bulatan Hishamuddin; Jalan Raja / Jalan Hishamuddin; Jalan Leboh Pasar Besar / Jalan Hishamuddin; Jalan Leboh Ampang / Jalan Tun Perak; Bulatan Dato Onn / Jalan Parlimen; Jalan Parlimen / Jalan Raja Laut; Jalan Sultan Ismail / Jalan T.A Rahman; Jalan Munshi Abdullah / Jalan Dang Wangi; Jalan Dang Wangi / Jalan T.A Rahman; Jalan Leboh Pasar Besar / Jalan Mahkamah Persekutuan and Jalan T.A Rahman / Jalan Raja.
