Russia Wants Direct KL-Moscow Flights

According to Bernama.com, Russia has called on airlines in Malaysia to offer direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Moscow, to promote tourism between both countries.

Senate President Tan Sri Abu Zahar said that the call was made by Russian Ambassador to Malaysia, Lyudmila Georgievna Vorobyeva.

The Russian Ambassador to Malaysia met Tan Sri Abu Zahar at his office to invite him to the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Valdivostok, Russia from January 27-31 next year, and also to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations, especially in the economic and tourism sectors.

“There are many attractive places to visit in Russia, for example there is a lake about five hours from Moscow which stretches from Perlis to Johor and is about 115km wide,” said Tan Sri Abu Zahar.

Vorobyeva who speaks fluent French, Thai and Lao languages had earlier held various positions, including the Deputy Director of the Department of Asia Pacific region countries and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
