Frankenweenie – New Tim Burton Movie in Malaysia – on 25 Oct

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Young Victor Frankenstein unexpectedly loses his beloved dog Sparky. But mysteriously, he manages to harness the power of science to bring Sparky back to life…with a few adjustments here and there.

He tries his best to hide Sparky from the outside world but Sparky eventually gets out. What will Victor’s friends, teachers and the entire town think, or do?

Directed by Tim Burton, the movie features voiceovers by Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Charlie Tahan. It will be released nationwide in Malaysia on 25 October.

Frankenweenie draws inspiration and pays homage to the 1931 film Frankenstein, based on Mary Shelley’s book of the same name. It is also a remake of Tim Burton’s 1984 short film of the same name. Ironically, the short film was created for Disney, but Burton was fired because the company felt that Burton had wasted company resources creating a film too scary for children to watch.
