A new Hindu temple will soon be built in Putrajaya, Precint 20. Said to be the country’s most unique Hindu temple, the Sri Lalithambikai Alayam temple will cost over RM12 million, and will be able to accommodate over 10,000 devotees during a festival.

The temple will apparently have a unique and modern design with a combination of main characteristics of the temples in North and South India.

According to Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, former MIC President and current Special Ambassador to India and South Asia, the temple will become another tourist attraction in Putrajaya.

"The ground-breaking ceremony for the temple is expected to be held in March and the construction work is scheduled to begin in September. We are confident that the temple will be able to accommodate the rising number of Hindu devotees in Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and their surrounding areas," he told a press conference here.

The construction of the temple is expected to be completed by the middle of 2015.
