For the past one month, news portals have been buzzing with news of Lahad Datu. Along with the facts, there are many negative rumours circulating that Malaysia is at war. To clear things up, we have compiled a timeline of activities that has been happening since day one at Lahad Datu. This timeline will be updated as often as possible with facts from various valid news portals in Malaysia.

24 March, Eight men were charged in the Tawau High Court for alleged involvement in the Lahad Datu intrusion. All eight were proven to be Filipinos.

The Malaysian security forces believe they have crippled the Sulu armed intruders following the capture of their military leader/commander, and a local who is said to have been supplying them with basic necessities, in the last 24 hours. Both men were arrested with their wives.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said that the two men were key players in Jamalul Kiram III’s group of 200 gunmen who invaded Lahad Datu a month ago.  One of them was identified as Amirbahar Hushin Kiram, believed to be the nephew of Jamalul Kiram III. They were caught based on information from local villagers.
