Cherating beach is one of the best beaches on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and Club Med Cherating is an excellent go-to destination to achieve bliss with family or friends. Designed to look traditionally Malaysian, the four star Club Med in Cherating continues to brandish their infamous slogan, “where happiness means the world”, by providing guests or Gentile Members (GM’s as they are known in Club Med) with an all inclusive holiday package that includes food, drinks, both alcoholic and non, child supervision if needed, as well as a substantial amount of activities for everyone of all ages.

Rooms are broken down into two types, clubs and suites. Clubs are advertised to be a great solution for families, and come with modern amenities such as air conditioning, mini-fridges, security safes, shower rooms, telephones, televisions. Clubs come in five varieties, leaving GM’s to choose a clubs with either a ocean side, a sea side, an interconnecting room, a room specifically made for people with reduced mobility, and a normal room.

Suites on the other hand, are more catered for couples looking for a quieter, more luxurious time at Club Med Cherating. Those opting to stay at the suite will be greeted by a limousine at the airport and will be able to take advantage of more exclusive room amenities such as an espresso machine, a flat screen television, a dedicated contact person during your stay, inclusive continental breakfast for room service, and an interconnecting sea side club room for family adults wishing to take a break from their kids.

As staying as a Gentile Member in Club Med allows on to take advantage of the all inclusive holiday package, bars and restaurants become an attractive destination for GM’s during peak and off-peak meal times for both nourishment and refreshment. The Mutiara restaurant offers a dining experience near the pool and serves traditional Asian dishes with a touch of international cuisine at the buffet. When the main restaurant closes, the noodle bar fills its place during teatime and supper for hungry guests. Those wishing to dine near the beach surrounded by serene gardens can do so at The Rembulan, which open for lunch and dinner. Most of us often crave a glass of wine or an ice cool gin and tonic while holidaying and GM’s can take a walk down to the main bar near The Mutiara restaurant or the beach bar for a chance to enjoy an alcoholic beverage over a conversation or two with other GM’s or loved ones.

Even with a wonderful beach looking out over the South China Sea, guests will have a hard time deciding how they would like to spend their time with tantalizing activities such as examining baby turtles at the turtle sanctuary (only during April to September), indulging at the extensive buffet, or by picking up one of the many sports available there. Club Med Cherating offers those wishing to test their circus abilities the chance to do so at their Flying Trapeze Academy with other circus activities. Or if water sports are something you fancy, why not take a lesson in sailing with their Sailing Academy that offers both beginners and advanced sailors to enjoy the sport with the best possible conditions.

Weary GM’s have the option to either enjoy treatment at the Club Med Spa by MANDARA, with packages such as body & soul, hot stone massages, Balinese massages, and pure natural facials, or to simply soak in the sun by the beach or by the aptly named Zen pool for some quiet time to yourself. One of the most tranquil things to do for those who are not into spas and treatments is to simply take a good book and enjoy it down by the beach, with only the sounds of the waves to lull you into a state of peace.

Club Med Cherating offers visitors the perfect chance to enjoy one of Malaysian’s bohemian beach destinations all for an affordable inclusive package combined with excellent facilities and services.

Club Med Price Range:
Nights at Club Med can go for RM600-1600 per night for one adult (lower for kids) and is season dependent.
