One of thrash metal’s “Big Four”, Metallica, will grace the stages of Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, for the first time ever this coming August 21st.

Touted on the band’s website as “yet another first”, Metallica will be coming to Kuala Lumpur for the first time after previously favouring the Lion City of Singapore in South East Asia as one of their Asian stopovers in the past.

The Grammy-award winning band never fails to live up to their expectations and usually commands massive crowds of head-bangers and rockers alike wherever they play. Fans in Kuala Lumpur should expect a packed out show.

Metallica, which consists of rhythm guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassist Rob Trujillo, is often hailed as one of the most successful metal bands on Earth, having sold more than a 110 million albums since their 80’s debut.

With classic albums such as Kill ‘Em All (1983), Ride the Lightning (1984), Master of Puppets (1986), …And Justice for All (1988), and Metallica (1991), they pioneered and influenced the thrash metal scene of the 80’s both in America and around the world.

These Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will also play in South Korea, Japan, China, and Singapore during the month of August.

Tickets go on sale at 11:30AM on Saturday, July 6, at Fahrenheit 88 Shopping Mall in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. Ticket prices are from RM190, RM350, RM380, RM450, RM550 and RM880.
