The cultures, flavours, colours and aroma of Malaysian cuisine comes to live at Thistle Johor Bahru this fasting month. Bazaar Citrawarna at Thistle Johor Bahru will take you on a culinary journey of local and international delights. At the Orchid Ballroom, you can start to break your fast with delicious dates and a variety of juices to quench your thirst.

Taste some fine palate pleasers such as Jeruk Betik, Jeruk Manga, Ikan Sepat Masin, Ikan Bulu Ayam, Keropok Udang and more. Other irresistible delights to feast your eyes on and whet your appetite are classics such as Nasi Tomato, Rendang Rusa, Ayam Masak Kurma, Daging Masak Hitam, Kambing Masak Masala, Assam Pedas Ikan Tenggiri, Stirfried Lamb With Scallions, Prawn Nestum, Sweet & Sour Fish, and the must-have favourite during the fasting month, the savoury Bubur Lambuk.
Complete your meal with traditional dishes such as the Sayur Lodeh, Kuah Kacang, Ketupat, Lemang, Ketupat Palas, Serunding Kelapa, Serunding Daging, Serunding Ayam, Satay and Otak-Otak. Light snacks such as Sushi, Tempura, and a variety of Curry Puffs, Durian Puffs, Durian Crepe and Durian Fritters will definitely make you come back for more.

The Bazaar Citrawarna at the Orchid Ballroom will also feature a variety of salads, namely Pecal, Kerabu Taugeh dan Perut, Acar Buah, Acar Limau, Bilis dan Tempe, Kerabu Kacang Botol, Kerabu Jantung Pisang, Urap Pegaga dan Udang Kering, Ulam Raja, Daun Gajus, Daun Selom, Kacang Panjang, which is best eaten with Sambal Belacan, Sambal Hijau, Cincalok, Budu and Sambal Tempoyak.

The dessert counter will feature an assortment of cakes like the Rainbow Cake, Red Velvet cake, and a variety of cupcakes. Your breaking fast will not be complete without trying the famous kampong-style Dodol, prepared fresh every day in a large cast iron wok.

20 types of Malay ‘kuih’ and desserts such as Seri Muka, Kuih Lapis, Bingka Ubi, Bingka Keledek, Lepat Ubi, Penderam, Kuih Bakar, Kuih Kapit, Kuih Loyang, Kuih Karas and many more will be served at the dessert buffet. If you prefer to opt for something western, check out the selection of puddings, sweet porridges, and an assortment of ice cream flavours.

The buffet starts from the 1st of July 2014.  It is priced at RM95.00++ per adult and RM76++ for children below 12 years old.
