Miles Teller plays Andrew Neyman, a young drummer enrolled in one of the best music schools in America, who has to suffer the scrutiny bestowed upon him by his fearsome tutor, a jazz maestro played by J. K. Simmons. As Andrew faces the tough challenge of rising towards his potential, his perfectionist tutor will stop at nothing to achieve the best.
