The Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) will be hosting a number of open houses this Chinese New Year to share the joy of the festival with the public. We’ll update this list as we hear about more events!
Kuala Lumpur
On the first day of the New Year, 8th February, MCA will be hosting an open house at the San Choon Hall in Wisma MCA in KL which starts at 9am.
Johor Bahru
Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Johor Domestric Trade, Tourism, and Cosumerism executive council chairman will host an open house at the Dewan Jubli Intan, Pontian, starting 1pm on the 8th of February.
Celebrations with MCA Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong will be held at SJK(C) Yong Peng 1 from 10am to 1am on 12th February.
On 13th February, MCA vice-President Datuk Chua Tee Yong welcomes the public to an open house at SJK(C) Ai Chun in Segamat, Johor, from 12pm to 2pm on 13th February while Paloh assemblyman Teoh Yap Kun will be hosting an open house at Restoran Sin Yu Lee in Kota Paloh, Johor from 12pm to 3pm.
In Pekan Nenas, MCA Deputy Secretary General Datuk Wee Jeck Seng invites the public to celebrate with him at Dewan Tunku Ibrahim Ismail on 21st February from 12pm to 2pm.
Finally, there will also be an open house at SJK(C) Foon Yew 5 at Taman Mount Austin, Johor, from 11am to 1pm on 27th February, which will be graced by Tebrau MP Khoo Soo Seang.
Penang
In Penang, the public can celebrate with Chief Minister, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng on 8th February at SPICE, Jalan Tun Dr Awang in Bayan. This will be a whole day affair, from 10am to 12.30am.
East Malaysia
The President and Central Working Committee of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party are hosting an open house at Dewan Sa’ati at 9.30am to 12.pm on 8th February.
Anyone can join in the celebrations so make it a point to pay a visit if you have yet to experience a Malaysian style open house!
