The Good Vibes Festival 2016 is about enjoying good music with good company with a little art, fashion, and the Good Bites food village featuring local artisanal entrepreneurs thrown in for good measure. Since its debut in 2013, this homegrown outdoor music festival has always offered a line-up of local and international artists from well-known bands to new, up-and-coming acts – and this year is no different. There will be something for all music lovers.

The festival this year will be held at The Ranch in Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands on 12th and 13th August. The event is outdoors and it will go one, rain or shine, so be prepared.

Good Vibes Festival 2016: tickets

You can opt for a one-day or two-day pass. Tickets are being released in three phases – the later the phase, the more expensive the tickets. There are no difference between tickets in each phase, as the festival is free standing all the way, and the only reason Phase 3 tickets are more expensive is simply because they are released the latest. So if you want to save some cash, make sure to get your tickets early.

Tips and tricks to keep in mind

The first thing to keep in mind is that the festival is only for adults over 18 years old on the day, so if you turn 18 on 14th August, you will not be allowed in.

Now, also remember that the festival will be outdoors so you should be prepared for all kinds of weather. The Good Vibes Festival 2016 website recommends bringing sunglasses and sunscreen in preparation for a sunny day and a raincoat in case it rains. Given Malaysia’s erratic weather, you can’t ever be too prepared.

To really get into the music festival vibe, you can bring along some picnic mats to get comfortable and make sure to have enough cash with you since there will not be any ATMs on site. Tickets are single entry so if you forget something, you won’t be allowed back in if you decide to leave. You’re also allowed to bring in compact camera to record great memories.

Here’s a list of something you aren’t allowed to bring in:

  • Professional cameras (SLR/DSLR)

One final thing to remember is to wear appropriate clothing. You’re welcomed to showcase your Coachella stylings but remember to be comfortable as well.
