GoPro Hero 5 launches in Malaysia at Zouk KL

gopro-hero-5-in-malaysia-1FunSportz Sdn Bhd, the importer and distributor of GoPro equipment from the USA, has announced the launch of the HERO5 Black and the HERO5 Session in Malaysia.

At a launch event at Zouk Kuala Lumpur, the GoPro team claimed to be changing from a camera company to an ‘experience-sharing platform’, with new hardware and accessories.

Touted as the “most powerful, easy-to-use GoPro ever”, the features of the HERO5 Black include: a two-inch touch display, video resolution up to 4K at 30 frames per second; 12MP photos; voice control in seven languages; waterproofing without a housing to 33ft (10m); electronic video stabilisation; distortion-free wide angle video and photos and linear-view (to remove the ‘fisheye’ effect), RAW photo mode; and GPS.

The HERO5 Session shares the same design of the original HERO Session, with upgrades including 10MP photos, plus the above. The HERO5 Black will is available for RM1849.00 and the HERO5 Session for RM1399.00.

Featured in a demonstration at the launch event, the new Quik app enables users to quickly produce, edit and share high-quality videos. After importing photos and  videos, users choose their favourite moments and a soundtrack from a library of songs, and Quik will automatically edit the video to the beat of the music, as well as add transitions and effects.

Additional new products and GoPro Plus

GoPro is also launching several new accessories later this year, including Quik Key, a key-chain, micro-USB card reader that plugs into your phone to transfer photos and videos from your GoPro; and REMO, a voice-activated remote that extends the voice control range of the camera while providing one-button remote control.

The company is also soon to launch GoPro Plus, a cloud-based subscription service that makes it easy to access, edit and share GoPro content. When a HERO5 camera is charging, it can auto-upload photos and videos to the platform when users can edit and share GoPro content. A subscription also unlocks access to a library of music, selected discounts at GoPro.com and exclusive access to GoPro Apparel.
