Update: Faiz Subri has won the Puskas Award!

Just last week we told you that a Malaysian made it to the top 10 of FIFA’s prestigious Puskas Award 2016 for the most beautiful goal of the year. Listed next to the likes of Neymar and Messi, Subri needed fans to vote for him to get to the top three – and we’ve done it!

Subri, alongside Brazilian player Malone and Venezuelan women’s under-17 midfielder Daniuska Rodríguez, are FIFA’s three finalists for the award, as voted by the public. From the three finalists, a winner will be announced on 9th January 2017 at the awards ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland.

Incredibly, Subri is the first Malaysian – and first Asian – to make it to the finals of the Puskas Awards. So, what do you say we also make him the first Malaysian and Asian to win it?! Voting will be open until 9th January 2017, so head over to fifa.com to cast your vote for Faiz Subri to get him over the line.
