This article is brought to you in part by History Channel.
The History Channel really does have something for every person whether you’re a fan of history, adventure, travel, culture, and even aliens. Of course, all these shows wouldn’t be half as entertaining if it weren’t for the brilliant presenters and characters. Now, you have a chance to meet some of these outstanding characters in the flesh at the History Con Malaysia on 4th to 6th August 2017.
Let’s take a look at some of the exciting things that History Con Asia in Malaysia has to offer fans this year:
1. Blade artistry and kris display
Forged in Fire champion Ryu Lim will be around to conduct a live on-stage demo for the audience to learn the skill and craftsmanship that goes into crafting quality metal weapons. Ryu Lim will also talk about a selection of extremely valuable, hand-crafted Malaysian Kris that are rarely ever seen in public
2. Photography Photo Walk with Justin Mott
Photo Face-Off judge and professional photographer Justin Mott will be taking small groups of photography enthusiasts on an exclusive hour-long photo walk through History Con, giving pro tips on composition, lighting, camera, and more. There will be one walk on Friday and two per day on Saturday and Sunday. The sessions will include half an hour of tutorials followed by half an hour of a photo walk in the tropical scenery around MAEPS. Don’t forget to bring your camera for this!
3. Motorbike Motorcade with Jaime Dempsey
Known for her motorbike escapades across Malaysia and Philippines, Jaime Dempsey of Ride N Seek will be taking you on a joyride around MAEPS with her Malaysian motor biking friends! If you have a motor bike and a keen sense of adventure, don’t miss this opportunity to get a taste of what Jaime does on a regular basis. There will be two sessions per day on Saturday and Sunday.
4. Celebrity Car Wars VR experience
Get a taste of some of the most exciting challenges from the newest season of Celebrity car Wars. The first person VR experience will put you right in the middle of the action for a fast and frenzied car football competition. Also, you can put your car football skills to the test with a remote control car football game with your family and friends.
5. Viking Village
Step inside the replica Vikings Village and be transported into History’s hit drama, Vikings. Check out the exact costumes worn by Ragnar and Lagertha, props from the show, and a model Viking ship created entirely out of Lego. Fans of the show will not be disappointed!
There are plenty of other fun activities and interesting booths to check out as well at History Con including personalising your own stamp with Pos Malaysia, a light graffiti photo booth, a silent cinema, mini escape room, badminton tournament, cosplay competition and much, much more.
You will also get to meet local celebrities like Elizabeth Tan, Harith Iskander, and Aizat Amdan, while MasterChef Judge Matt Preston will be cooking a dinner for 50 lucky VIP guests!
6. Cooking lessons with Masterchef Asia’s Jasbir Kaur
MasterChef Asia finalist Jasbir Kaur has been busy after MasterChef as a professional caterer. This time around at History Con, Jasbir will be sharing her tips and tricks to making the perfect roti and other favourites. She will also be conducting hand-on cooking tutorials at the MasterChef Booth twice a day on Saturday and Sunday. So all you hopeless cooks out there, this one’s for you.
