Mont’ Kiara International School (M’KIS) was privileged to host Paul Anderson, a world-renowned expert on science education and YouTube sensation. Held on campus from 22-24 September, the focus of the weekend workshop was on the implementation of NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). M’KIS welcomed over 40 international educators and leaders from half a dozen countries across Southeast and East Asia.

Hosting this weekend was yet another step towards actively pursuing the best the world has to offer in teaching and learning. M’KIS has successfully shifted attention towards implementation of NGSS across the board. There has been a significant investment in the middle years through the building of a dedicated middle school STEM lab and the implementation of a standards-based gradeless exploratory. Driven by educators and leaders who are taking their teachings to the next level, this workshop showcased cutting-edge education at its best.

After this inspiring weekend, M’KIS Director of Curriculum, Mr. Paul Henderson stated “It is an exciting time to be at M’KIS. We are aggressively pursuing the best the world has to offer in education. This weekend was one of many examples of our success.” The future is bright, not only at M’KIS but for all those educators and leaders that are taking their teachings to the next level.
