School Snaps: The Sunset Serenade at Epsom College

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Epsom College in Malaysia has a proud tradition of musical excellence that was exemplified in a recent concert, the Sunset Serenade. Held in the Performing Arts centre with the sunset overlooking the school’s grounds as a backdrop, pupils performed a range of repertoire including a jazzy arrangement of September in the Rain from a Year 10 pupil, The Acrobat on the trombone from a Year 11 GCSE student and two A Level pupils performing the challenging opening movement of Beethoven’s Pathetique sonata and Liszt’s virtuosic Transcendental Etude No. 11 respectively. These occasions are always familial yet formal, with pupils from the boarding community as well as parents and teachers coming in friendly support, and a good time was had by all.
