School Snaps: GIS: Making a Difference

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Every week, GIS volunteers head out in a van loaded with meals to share with the urban poor. This ‘Street Feeding’ programme is just one of GIS’ many community service initiatives: the school also runs weekly ‘Reach Out Teaching’ refugee programmes, and a ‘Make a Wish’ club for critically ill children. Regular dress-up days and our annual ‘Big Read’ also help to raise awareness and funds for charities. By far, the largest GIS community service event is the annual ‘Mufti Day’ which this year, raised an incredible RM105,000 – a true testimony to the remarkable community spirit in our school!
