ANA are Reconstructing Their International Flights Meal Services

Starting from 1 March 2019, Japan’s All Nippon Airways are introducing new and improved in-flight services on all international routes. These include newly added meals choices as well as well as complimentary amenities.

ANA will now allow passengers the convenience of choosing their in-flights meals before their scheduled flights, and will have wider range of options. Previously, this service was only available to ANA Mileage Club member travelling in Business Class.

Business Class passengers travelling from Japan to North America (except Honolulu), Europe, Southeast Asia,, and India will now have an added service of selecting their meals from ANA’s premium “The Connisseurs” programme which includes dishes made by renowned chefs from around the world. Cuisine dishware in all First and Business Class cabins will also be upgraded.

Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers travelling to North America (except Honolulu) and European routes will also have more meal options with an additional upgraded menu items at the cost of JPY2,500 (US$23). This upgrade will enable passengers to select their meals from the premium menu options up to 24 hours before departure.

New amenities

ANA will also introduce new upgrades to their First Class sleepwear and amenities. From 1 March 2019, First Class passengers will now receive feather comforters from Nishikawa Sangyo, a well-known fabric manufacturer, as well as pillows of duck down from Hungary. They will also receive a new blanket and cardigan as part of the set. Comforters and pillow covers are made from 100% Egyptian cotton.

Business Class passengers will get comforters from Maruhachi Product, with dual-layered pillows made from 100% Egyptian cotton, and newly designed cardigans and pajamas.

Both First and Business Class passengers will also be receiving brand new amenity kits from London-based Globe-Trotter with selections of Japanese cosmetics.

First Class kits feature The Ginza’s Essence Empowering Set of cosmetics solutions, while Business Class kits provide selections from Kose’s Sekkisei MYV. The kits will be available in several colours, and will be rotated every three to four months. They will be given to travellers in First Class on all international routes, as well as those in Business Class on North America (except Honolulu), Europe and Oceania routes.

“We want to ensure that travelers, especially on long-haul flights arrive at their destination refreshed and ready to achieve their goals, whether they are traveling for business or pleasure. We will take whatever steps are necessary to keep ANA at the forefront of comfort and convenience for international travelers,” said Yutaka Ito, executive vice president of ANA.
