Members of SJIIM’s Parent Support Group (PSG) and academic team recently visited the University Malaya Paediatric Cancer Unit to present a donation of RM5,000, which was raised during SJIIM’s Xmas Bazaar in December 2018. The PSG along with MsWiloughby and Mr Cairns of the school’s academic team met up with Prof. Dr Hany Mohd Ariffin, Head of Paediatrics Hematology – Oncology and Bone Marrow Centre at UMMC. Prof. Dr Hany thanked everyone for the contribution and took them on a tour of the research centre. For the visiting party, it was emotional and heartbreaking to see quite a number of children going through the chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant treatment. It was especially hard seeing that the youngest patients were infants, and the rest being 12 years old and below. As such, it was comforting to know that the received donation will contribute towards funding research and treatment for the children in need. On behalf of the PSG, SJIIM would like to thank all parents involved for their effort and generosity in raising the funds
