School Snaps: Tenby Schools Penang Students Expand Their Horizons Close to Home

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Tenby International School students have improved their island home and broadened their horizons as part of a special community week.

Our students helped clean up the national park, spruced up a fire station, cared for animals in a shelter, and brought smiles to an orphanage.

The community-led programme is just one of the ten options offered as part of the school’s Horizons Week programme.

More than two hundred 11 to 15-year-olds chose a trip based on their passion to enhance their learning or to challenge their comfort zones in an exciting and safe environment.

This year’s exhilarating, cultural, skill-based learning or leadership-based trips included:
• In school Photography, Samba Band, Coding, Sports Leaders and a Health & Fitness Award was provided together with service visits to Fire & Rescue Station at Bagan Jermal in Tanjung Tokong, Penang National Park.

• Perhentian Islands, Loola Eco Resort Bintan Island, Ho Chi Minh city and Gopeng all included village clean ups or orphanage visits. Check out the Tenby Schools Penang Facebook page for photos.
