In efforts to to bring life back to Malaysian bars that have sadly been left to lurch in the red since the onslaught of the MCO’s business closure effects, Heineken Malaysia Berhad (HEINEKEN Malaysia) has launched a collective platform to aid keeping our favourite hangouts in business.

The “Raise Our Bars” platform is designed to encourage consumers to buy a voucher for a beer, stout, or cider from their favourite bar and receive an additional one FOC upon redemption.

More than 750 bars and pubs across Malaysia have already signed up to be featured on the platform, and HEINEKEN Malaysia has pledged RM1 million to support the initiative, in addition to sponsoring the FOC drinks. All 100% of profits made from the voucher purchase goes directly back to the bar, with the associated fees and charges also absorbed by HEINEKEN Malaysia.

To purchase via this initiative, visit www.raiseourbars.my, select your state, find your supported bar, and buy up to three vouchers for Heineken®, Guinness, Tiger, or Apple Fox. Upon redemption, you will receive two of your selected drinks, and a free sponsor on the third as a thank-you for the support of a local establishment.

Vouchers can be redeemed from the 11th May until 31st August 2020, dependent on the reopening of the selected outlet.

We believe that together we can help breathe life back into Malaysian bars and pubs. That’s why we’re asking the public to join us in supporting their favourite bars and pubs today, and make sure we keep the lights on for them. We would also like to urge consumers to enjoy responsibly when they redeem their vouchers – understand your drink limits, do not drink and drive, as well as maintain social distancing and good hygiene practices.

You may also have heard of the RM1.5 million pledge by HEINEKEN Malaysia via the Tiger Beer brand – another initiative to keep street food vendors, coffee shops, and food courts afloat, and providing food relief to over 700 at-risk families around the local brewery.

An online training and education platform for bar staff has also been established via @heinekenmalaysia on Instagram.

Social distancing polices and other safe behaviour guidelines established by both government and outlets are ensured of implementation by HEINEKEN Malaysia, and consumers are reminded to adhere to these SOPs for the benefit of the local community.
